Vanessa grew up in the small town of Big Bear Lake, CA enjoying skiing in the winter and trips to the
beach in the Summer. However, her favorite vacations were always those weeks spent in the
family cabin right on the border of Zion National Park. Her parents and grandparents built their
cabin in the 1970’s, and it became the origination of some of her most special family memories. They
spent their time hiking, exploring the forest for arrowheads, spotting animals, discovering cool
rocks, and just enjoying the magical landscapes of Zion. It has always held a special place in Vanessa's heart.
As she started a family of her own, Vanessa and her husband, Alex continued to create these memories with their
children. Each and every visit became harder and harder for the family to leave. In 2020, Vanessa and her husband Alex packed up and decided with their children to make East Zion their permenant home.
Vanessa and Alex decided to start a vacation rental business here after many requests from their friends and
neighbors. In the end of 2020, they decided to take the leap and founded myzionvacation.com!
With Vanessa's experience in teaching elementary school, and Alex’s background as a Physician Assistant they completely pivoted. These two have created a successful business that they love, My Zion Vacation; managing 25 vacation rentals
on the East side of Zion National Park. It was a natural next step for these two to begin their venture as real
estate agents.
